Hello, all!

I'm planning on moving from 1440x900 19" LCD to a 23" 1920x1080 tomorrow. I'm a PC gamer. Will a 512MB X1900XT card (my current use) scale to 1920x1080 well? Thanks for any opinions!

Most likely yes, my x300 does 1920x1080 just fine.

x300? You mean integrated graphics? Is it as old as an X1900XT?

No actually haha, I have an ATI x300 PCI-E card. Old as Balls and has 128 MB of VRAM. I use it as a secondary card.

Btw, I'll be replaying old games on 1920x1080 (COD, COD2, COD4), HL series for the time being.

How will these oldies (4:3 and 16:10 aspect ratios) play on a 16:9 monitor?

Well the games you mentioned should render at 16:9 just fine. Though if you use a 4:3 or 16:10 resolution on your monitor, you may want to scale them by "Keeping Aspect Ratio" or "1:1" setting either on the monitor or through your Videocard settings.

But generally it's good to play games at the native res of you monitor IMO.

I played a lot of games (Crysis included) on an X1950XTX @ 1920x1200, which worked great. If the games aren't too demanding, an X1900 will cope with WUXGA or 1080p. :)

Here's what I bought just hours ago, guys!

Acer x2333h. 23". Can't wait to try this at home this weekend!

It has VGA, DVI and HDMI.

@suiken -- will try to see if it has 1:1 feature.

@Paradigm-- 19x12 is 16:10, no? Is your X1950XT still alive?
