[quote]I was able to record with latest Fraps set at Half-Size, 30fps, recording audio.

WOW... when i record(fraps 3.03) half size and no sound, my fps go down to 11 :(

Yea mine does as well or around 15 but the play back is smooth it is weird

But again the only way I can record Dirt2 with Fraps is during a replay. There is no way I can record while playing it just will not let me. The minute I hit the key to start recording it just freezes and the game just closes.

I have several different benchmarks

--------------------------------------------------------
1.

5870 X 2 CF

5760 X 1200 res
All settings on high
4XMSAA
Medium post processing

Frames: 11333
Time (ms) 162822
Min 16
Max 144
Avg 69.604
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.

everything set high ultra when possible. everything maxed out to the hilt

Here is the results of the"ultra benchie".

I started off by maxing everything out. High post processing . I had to back down 4 X MSAA instead of 8X because I couldn't even navigate the menu @ 9 FPS. I also had to reduce the Vehicle Reflections from Ultra to High.

5870 X 2 CF

4 X MSAA
High post processing
everything that could go to Ultra except Vehicle Reflections( reduced to high)
the rest on High.

5760 X 1200 res

Frames: 17744
Time (ms) 377493
Min 0
Max 93
Avg 47.005

Basically, I was able to complete the race. but the game was unplayable as you can see from the (0 Min) it was freezing on and off and very sporadic .

I'm pleased with the being able to play with high settings and at least 4Xaa. at such a high resolution .

But.......... I really feel that for having 5870 X 2 I should be getting more for my money

I'm now going to try my GTX 285 @ 1920 X 1200 . results to follow

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.
GTX 285
I have 2 benchmarks for my AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition / 8GB DDR3/ GTX 285 1GB/ 1920 X 1200 resolution.

First one :

Would not let me set post processing to high . Only Medium.
4 X MSAA
all high settings
1920 X 1200

Frames: 25301
Time: (ms) 323737
Min: 1
Max: 185
Avg: 78.153
_____________________

Second bench

8 X MSAA
all Ultra/ High settings
1920 X 1200

Frames: 13092
Time: (ms) 184716
Min: 33
Max: 167
Avg: 70.876
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.
and now this is my bench for 5870 in crossfire with only 1920 X 1200 all high settings.
Frames: 24467
Time: (ms)210604
Min: 71
Max: 285
Avg: 116.175

I meant that Fraps is set to capture at 30fps. When i run the record feature, the FPS drops by about 8 frames. Though the .avi playback is still at 30fps, and looks as such.

Are you able to record while playing the game. Or do you record replays. I can't record while playing it just crashes, I can only record a replay.

Which setting makes the mud stick to your window when you go through water?

I had it once, but now it just looks like rocks bouncing off my windshield

It's been a while sense I have played this game . but I had a chance to play it tonight . After a CPU upgrade and 10.3 drivers. I picked up an extra 20 FPS.
