Not sure how many fans of this great turn-based game are out there (http://www.paradoxplaza.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=483&Itemid=), but it runs wonderfully on Eyefinity - and it even supports Crossfire!!. No tweaking at all required - except I discovered that Crossfire and FRAPS screen capture don't get along!

Beyond that, the interface works extremely well - all the dialogs and such are properly centered and look correct. The buttons on the far edges all have shortcut keys anyway. Just a great experience.

With Crossfire, I get a steady 66fps with everything maxed at 5040x1050. 42 fps steady non-Crossfire. This game feels fine with as low as 25fps, btw.

Hmm turn based, thats good for a dad like me that has to leave the computer often :D

I'll check it out, I passed on Dawn of War 2, it was on sale for $20 this looks like a good alternative.

I'll have to check out some gameplay clips and what not.

Moved for better visibility.

EL is vs very similar to Fantasy Wars, which behaves likewise in Surround and can be found for even less. ;)
Either way, there are demos:

Very cool, didn't even realize this was a TBS.. thought "yet another warcraft clone, yawn." That, plus triple wide support, plus it being on sale on Steam = gotta buy this.

How long does a typical match last? Hopefully not weeks :(

The scenery is impressively open but the "game board" is never very large, although covered in FOW. Combat is automatic, and you can "teleport" units to their location instead of watching them move. You'll also get better rewards if you can complete scenarios in as few turns as possible. So all in all, it's as fast-paced as a TBS can get, once you've learned the ropes. The resulting emphasis on pure strategy may in return require more time to think about each move, though...

So can you always battle with your units Civ-style or do you have to enter a battle HoMM style?

You never enter a battle afaik. That's what I meant by "automatic combat", but it's auto-resolve really. So I think that's Civ-like but I never played any Civilization.

Well do you move individual units around on the tiles or entire armies?

Individual units. You can't mix unit types in the same "army". A Hero will always move and fight on his own, and swordsmen can't join a squad of archers. Only variables in a combat are unit perks/health and the terrain. Just like venerable Fantasy General, this is a pure strategy game, no tactics involved (unlike HoMM, Disciples, King's Bounty...).

Seriously dude, just grab a demo and forget my awkward attempts at explaining the game mechanics ^_^'
