I really wonder if these work aswell:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.27603 <--- mini DP->VGA $13
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.20776 <-------DP->VGA $17
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.37089 <-------DP->VGA $18 (with cable)

Anyone with eyefinity who wants to enlighten us with the results? :rockout

This is a no-brainer really. All DP-to-VGA adapters work with Eyefinity.

SAPPHIRE said we can use the DP to VGA.

My intention at this time is to pick up a third ViewSonic 24 inch LCD exactly like the two I now have. I'm testing the VGA option at present and, like others have pointed out, it looks really good. There's no discernible difference in IQ from the DVI and HDMI connections I've been using.

But, as I've read through this thread, using the DP -> VGA adapter doesn't quite promise a 100% "always on" display for that monitor using the adapter. I just went through the purchase...and return...of the ACCELL active adapter due to losing the screen at random times.

So, my question is: What setup combination using this DP -> VGA adapter seems to work most consistently? I got really frustrated with that active adapter and would rather do without Eyefinity than go through having to change screen resolution, unplug/replug, and all the other methods mentioned to restore the image.

My system: Windows 7 Pro x64, XFX HD5770 [with the BIOS update from XFX], MSI P45 Neo mobo. Q9550 CPU, 1000W PSU, 4x2 GB Dual Channel RAM.

I just purchased a cheapo £15 DP--->VGA adaptor from ebay. Works a treat, picture is as pin sharp as DVI from my second 5850 was.

Now my 2 * 2007fp and 3007wfp all running nicely from a single 5850 =D

new user here. i have a similar setup with a 3007WFP and two HP LP2065s in portrait mode for a 1200x1600-2560x1600-1200x1600 setup using two video cards, one of them being a 5870. I was under the impression that:
1) Eyefinity didn't support portrait-landscape-portrait
2) resolutions had to match on all three monitors
3) the DP-VGA adapter had to be connected to the highest resolution monitor, which in this case is the 3007WFP which only as a dual link DVI input.

i was under the impression that you were using Eyefinity, but maybe you meant to say that you were able to output to three monitors simultaneously on desktop applications? Can you actually game on all three monitors simultaneously?

As I posted above, I was able to get a third ViewSonic to match my existing two. In fact, I got it for less cost the what I paid for the first two.

Then, I made a trip to Fry's and picked up the Monster-brand, DP -> VGA adapter that cost $49.99. It's a bit costly compared to what others have posted here. But, it was the only place and the ONLY DP -> VGA adapter I could get my hands on locally.

It's now been close to 34 hours of constant Eyefinity without ANY flicker or lost screen. I'm really happy with the way it's working.

I even had one of my sisters and her husband over this evening for a showing. They were absolutely impressed!

You could go to monoprice and get DP->VGA adapters for $20 each I bought 2 already (Buying another soon for my 5x1 setup).
