Read Full Detailed Report - Red Faction: Guerrilla

Red Faction: Guerrilla is an open-world third-person action video game developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ. The game is the third installment in the Red Faction series.

The player takes the role of Alec Mason as he assists the Red Faction to disrupt and overthrow the oppressive Earth Defense Force (EDF) on Mars. This is presented to the player in a third person perspective, a departure from the series' previous two games which were first person shooters. Developer Volition changed the camera perspective to help the player see and appreciate the surroundings as they are destroyed.

Support is native for 16:10 and 16:9 resolutions. Simply select and apply your desired resolution from the options menu.

For 15:9 (1280x768) and other "unusual" resolutions, you'll have to delete My DocumentsMy GamesRed Faction GuerrillaOptions. The game will then run at your desktop resolution, with default options.
If you're happy with the default advanced graphic details, you're all set, the game will always start at this res.
If you change any graphical option however, the Options folder will resurrect and your resolution will be lost. You'll have to delete My DocumentsMy GamesRed Faction GuerrillaOptions and re-adjust graphic details in-game everytime you play.

Alternatively, you can hex edit
My DocumentsMy GamesRed Faction GuerrillaOptionsrfg_display_options.rfgs_pc
Offset : value
0x00000001 : display width
0x00000005 : display height
0x00000019 : windowed on/off

Finally for those not too familiar with hex editing and unhappy with the default graphic options, here are custom options files for 1280x768, 3840x800, 3840x1024 and 5040x1050 with max details and 4x AA :

I think the sum of the singleplayer anomalies should be graded as a blemish. Does this sound about right?

You can't edit the game options like AA in the ini and thus never have to delete it and also have your options, right? I would assume you thought of this.

Sure does to me. Writing this report was a drag, I'll happily leave the rest to you !

You're right actually : users can hex-edit the resolution in Optionsrfg_display_options.rfgs_pc and keep custom settings (I confess I only just gave it a try).
No time right now, but I guess a method update is in order

Situationally annoying solution and singleplayer anomalies are blemishes.

Does this make sense ?

If it does I'll add it as-is to the DR.
If not, I can add this...

rfg_display_options.rfgs_pc

It makes sense to me, but I'm a programmer, but are you sure that second image is right, because 0005 and 0003 is just 5x3, i think yours pointers in the wrong place, I think its 02 & 03 and 06 & 07. That would be 500x300 in hex which is 1280x786 in decimal.

Edit: Scratch that I checked it against mine, I wonder why the pairs are saved the wrong way around. Ether way its worth pointing that out, they will also need a hex editor of some sort so a url to a freeware one would be useful.

Not in the slightest, but I would love to get this working in 5040 proper but that looks beyond me
