Ok, I loaded nvidia driver 182.5 for vista 64.

I was able to up the res to 4320 x 900 @ 60 hz with no problem.

my nvidia panel shows 5040 x 1050 with osd reporting 57 hz, but when I selected this all my screens say input not supported.

The GXM wizard still only allows me to select 5040 x 1050 @ 55 hz.

Do I need to roll back the powerdesk manger to beta?

Do i need to do a little more tweeting? or am I at my limit with these monitors?

Still using:

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
matrox powerdesk - 1.03.0020.0617 2.05 GXM/VEOS
Firmware version - 2.3.40

Do I need to go back to Vista 64 bit?

Thanks for pointing out the driver. I have not tried any games yet, had to go to work & just got the 4320 x 900 working while I was getting ready for work. At work right now to be honest.

Will try any other suggestions when I get home, thanks for you help.

I followed the thread with the timmings for 5040x1050. But when I go to test it it changes to 5040x1050, but it says custom test failed & reverts back. It is weird.

Should I be using the beta GXM version with 182.50?

I gave up trying to get 5040x1050 for now. I am running 4320x900 and playing all my games fine.

I dont know if my monitors will not support it, or I am using the wrong drivers, or I am just too stupid to get it working, but it is not that easy to set up.

I am a little disappointed that Matrox doesnt support or produce a better product/drivers that will allow you to set up 5040x1050 easier.

Any other suggestions on what I can do, please respond.

Thanks, for your help so far.

P.S. 4320x900 is still pretty damn awesome, when playing L4D/TF2/Eve Online/Half Life Series/COD Series

P.S.S. I also can't seem to find many wallpapers that are of this size either. Any help here would be appreciated.

as Matrox themselves said, its not *possible* to do what they are doing. Squeezing 1680x1050x3 @ 57Hz IS THE LIMIT of the DVI standard. Its amazing it works at all.

thing is... with nV drivers past 182.50 it is buggy. and Windows 7 isnt even a real OS yet, so expecting it to work flawlessly might not happen.

Im sure if you used XP that you could get it working.

not trying to be mean... i wish you the best luck with it
