Guys, I've been searching everywhere to see if anyone has done this yet. It seems that 3x 1366x768 would be a very manageable resolution that you can run native on TVs. Plus, those are mostly the older TVs that are selling cheaply enough now to make this possible.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't know if it has been done, but the most likely reason why it hasn't is that the bezels are quite large.

There's no doubt in my mind that it would work, however.

Only way i'd be interested in 720p triple-head would be via projectors. 720p LCD tv bezels are too chunky.

Would be cool. Cookie to whoever can find a cost effective, small form factor, long bulb life and overall good image quality projector to suit the job!

Toshiba has some thin(ner) bezel HDTV's in the 37" and 40" sizes. I thought about this, but decided that it would be needlessly big. I went with 3 24" monitors, and those have (not counting bezels) more than 60" of horizontal screen space.

If I want 60" to fill my entire peripheral vision, then it can; it's just a matter of how far back I sit. So I guess the question would be: do you need more than 5 feet of horizontal screen space?

32" and 37" HDTV's have come down in price, but not like the 22-24" monitors. I got my 24" monitors for $140 each, and you'll routinely see prices in the $160-180 range.

I have a 24" right now, and was thinking of just getting 2 more to match, but I hate running non-native resolution.

It always seemed to make text far too fuzzy. Do you guys just live with it? Use something else for text? Or has something changed since I last tried?

I thought about that but 3x the bulbs burning out would just suck.

Projectors have a higher maintenance cost from the bulbs sure, but if you take the size vs price into account, they're less expensive then a similarly sized flat panel.

How expensive would it be to get say 3 plasma/lcd that are 100+in diag. in size each?

I don't disagree, but the obvious best part of projectors is the seamless bezel free image.

Sometime you have to get to the "How big do you really need it" point though. Sure its cheaper for 100" projector screens vs lcd/plasma, but what if 37" is big enough to self-proclaim the title of "King of Geeks"?

The projectors are totally awesome if you have the money to spend, no one can disagree with that.
