It is nice that this has a 'recruit' mode to get you back into it, ArmA 1 was a steep learning curve, but I did a few of the one offs in recruit to get into the swing of it and am really enjoying the campaign now, even with the invisible machine gunner and other bugs!

I am actually playing it on just one screen so I can crank up all the details to max and the distance too. With TrIR4 it ain't so bad, but I may give TH a go if a centre screen HUD mod arrives.

Arma 2 now has set aspect ratio to 12:3 even running at 5040x1050, it looks stretched, before i test it at 1680x1050 windowed it was set to "custom" at 5040x1050, and looked great. :cry:

Edit: K fixed, i set my ARMA2PROFILE at C:UsersHomeDocumentsArmA 2 file :

Code:
fovTop=0.8;
   fovLeft=4;

I have also noticed another video settings weirdness. When I change the settings in game (rather than at the main menu) sometimes it goes all blurry. When you are selecting the settings it looks fine

But when you go back into the game it goes like this

No, ill try to tweak some values, but to play at 5040x1050 i dont think itll be possible since you cant launch Arma 2 at this res., just at 3840x1024, and then change in the video options menu to 5040x1050 - and this resets, at least for me, any ui changes.

The HUD issue is fixed, easiest way possible haha :D, simply edit your ARMA2PROFILE at C:UsersHomeDocumentsArmA 2 or C:UsersHomeDocumentsArmA 2 Other Profiles , setting :

triplehead=1;

BI finnaly fixed that D3D error you got when trying to launch Arma 2 at 5040x1050, try the latest beta patch (check the readme file of the patch to correctly install / run it) :

ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_Build_59323.zip

Code:
[59318]  Fixed: support the highest Matrox TrippleHead2Go resolutions
