What is "Vert-"?

Vert-, or "vertical minus", is what happens when games don't repond well to widescreen or triplehead resolutions. Instead of the vertical FOV remaining fixed and the horizontal FOV expanding (Hor+), the horizontal FOV remains fixed and the vertical FOV is decreased. When this happens in triplehead, the vertical FOV is usually greatly decreased. It results in a feeling of beeing "way too close" to the in-game world, or looking at the world through a soda straw. It's a very undesirable feature.

Thanks you :)
Yes I saw that in the vids. I didn't know that was the way it is, I thought maybe it was just a FOV setting, set close up. Like can be done in FSX, for example.

I can live with it until a patch. I have TrackIR too, so that will help. It is certainly not anything that draws me away from the game ;)

And besides, if I found I just couldn't get on with it, I would simply run on a single screen until the patch. But honestly, I don't believe it will bother me too much.

I kinda doubt it. The game is suppose to be fairly 'tamper proof', for fair online play. If Jason says it must be patched to correct it, I'm pretty sure that's probably the case.

Since they are using the support of TH2Go as a sales point, I would assume it will be fixed reasonably soon after release. We'll see.

It will look kinda of strange, of that I'm sure. As I look at the vids and imagine it over 3 25.5" monitors, the cockpit will be wider than the real planes were. I'm hoping to have a fairly true scale cockpit, once the fov is fixed.

I'm also hoping they will do much as rFactor, FSX and IL-2 is, where you can change it on the fly.

The Rise of Flight FOV can be changed on the fly, but in triplehead it can't be zoomed out nearly far enough.

No need for anyone to try and fix it via a third-party hack if the publisher says a patch is coming.

So the bottom line is, it does not have TH2Go support. Do we know when the patch will be released and will if definitely fix the vert-?

Thanks!

We don't know the definitive answer to either of those questions. I only know that Jason Williams of 777 Studios (the RoF North American publisher) is aware of the problem and told me it would be patched.

We are working with Jason and the RoF developers to clarify what needs to be fixed and work toward a solution as quickly as possible.

I know everyone, including the devs & the publisher, will want the best possible TripleHead experience for RoF players.
