Anybody playing this game in 5040 x 1050?

I am on a Q6700 with 4 gigs of ram and 2 x 280 GTX's in SLI.

I am getting high and horrible FPS in WoW when I have all the eye candy turned on (high settings in video options with the new patch).

Makes me sad :(

I just don't understand how I can get 150 fps in an area then in the same area and not doing anything at all, but spinning the camera I can go down to 10 fps.

That is a huge drop that I can't understand.

All other games are fine like L4D, CoD 5, Far Cry 2, etc..

Has anyone found a remedy to this? I need my shadow effects turned on in that game, I absolutely need it. I am a graphics whore :(

EDIT :

I turn on the SLI indicator bar for WoW, and the side bar fills up top to bottom when on the character selection screen and yet in game only fills up about 35-40% each side (top and bottom) at the most. Weird...

Move your shadow settings to half. You won't notice any difference because this only controls the distance which shadows are rendered, not their quality. Setting the Shadows at this level on my machine still rendered them as far as I could see and gave me about a 20% increase in my frame rate.

List what addon's you are using. I should probably be able to pinpoint which ones are causing problems, if any.

Disable ... umm ... Dynamic Shadows is it called ? It's a checkbox for it anyway. Something about shadows, or lighting. Maybe dynamic lighting. Should increase performance 2fold, and i didn't notice the difference.

It's not you - it's the engine. It just doesn't take advantage of the high-end card very well... I have most of the sliders turned all the way down, but in a 25-man raid with everone firing off crap my fps drops into the low teens. Shouldnt' happen but it does.
