It works almost right out of the box, you have to edit a file to set the resolution but from what I can see so far it does the FOV for you much like Oblivion did, there is a small matter of dealing with computer console screens in-game that I hope they can work out but the rest is awesomely functional!

My post in the fallout forum describes file editing and console issue better:

Hey there Bump ... thanks for the info ... :D
So far the default field of view is very good if not perfect, no graphical glitches and it plays like a champ, but there one issue I can find so far and its a some what important:
When you access a computer console it assumes a tighter aspect ratio thus the red button to exit it is cut off at the bottom and I can't seem to find a keyboard mapping for it, you just can't exit a console, forcing a save/quit/switch res/load/do it/repeat each time which isn't fun.

Regular aspect 4:3 (1280x1024)

Triplehead aspect 12:3 (3840x024)

I know there are probably bigger fish to fry, but could we get that red button mapped to some key on the keyboard in first patch?

Btw for others trying, here's how I initiated it:
1. First launch the game's loader and establish all the visual settings you want and quit
2. Edit my documentsmy gamesFallout 3falloutprefs
3. Set the variables iSize W & H (the last ones in the [display] catagory) to your desired resolution and the game will just accept them, works great no issues except one...
(Any time you edit the visual effects it appears to re-write that file and wipes out your changes such as the resolution, hence the order to do them in)
That's better ... :P

Any chance of some more screenshots ?

I inadvertantly killed this chick's dad, oops :P

That VATS auto-attacking/SWEET cut-scene moves view:

The wrist gadget thing:

Ain't it pretty:

Ain't it pretty with a regular 1280x1024 resolution:

Yah man, far as I can tell it inherently got the FOV perfect and everything, don't mind that the gun and arm are a little raised in most shots, my screen shot key in fraps is alt-f10 and alt is also the 'aim' by default in FO3.

To get the HUD (health, ammo) onto the middle monitor, go into your FALLOUT.ini

Find the following lines..
Code:

   iSafeZoneXWide=15
   iSafeZoneYWide=15
   iSafeZoneX=15

Change them to one of this (depending on your resolution)

3840x1024

Code:

   iSafeZoneXWide=610
   iSafeZoneYWide=15
   iSafeZoneX=610

5040x1050

Code:

   iSafeZoneXWide=770
   iSafeZoneYWide=15
   iSafeZoneX=770

(iSafeZoneYWide does not change intentionally)

Screenshots are here.. Paddy found out which values to change as you can see on that post, I just came up with the 3840x1024 values and reposted on the first page since I was the first person to ask about the HUD going to middle.

Oh man, the 2D overlays for accessing computers are killing me. Having to restart with a standard resolution and then access the computer and then restart again to get back to playing the game is ridiculous.

For those of you having problems with the computer terminals being off the screen, open up my documents/my games/fallout 3 and edit fallout.ini

edit fDefaultFOV=75.0000 to 150.0000 this changes the menus FOV not the game! so the pipboy, hacking terminals and lock picking screens appear how they should look.

This worked liked a charm for me at 3840x1024

edit - If you are just installing the game, I recall that fallout.ini did not appear until I ran the game once. And I hope this helps everyone! ^^

This is awesome news, just worked for me too :) There we go, the only lingering annoyance of triple screen banished far as I know :)
