No need for Dual link. I use one of this with my last laptop with DVI out:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10231&cs_id=1023102&p_id=2218&seq=1&format=2

Or you can use one of this if you have an extra DVI cable:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041902&p_id=2080&seq=1&format=2

Since my current laptop have HDMI out, I'm now just using a HDMI cable.

What happened? Was the box damaged? Looks like the screen cracked?

Yea the box came damaged of the truck but I decided that it may be ok. Unpacked, took one look at the screen and knew: it was cracked. Turned it on to test it and it confirmed it. Already called newegg for RMA, waiting for aproval now :(

I gotta say some part of this is sharps stupidity of packaging. The LCD prt of the screen was facing nothing but a piece of cardboard. However the back of the LCD had a thick piece of styrofoam. Why the lcd was facing a thin cardboard side instead of the thick heavy styrofoam side is a mystery to me. If the lcd faced the styrofoam side the only damage (if even) would be a scape on the back of the screen plastic.

Let you in on a little secret, product packing is done by production artists and not manufacturing engineers. Production artists are worried about proper spell check, color correction, trapping and graphic design, and typically don't care about what is going inside the box.

Chat said 5-7 days for claim process so I'm looking at about two weeks :(. Only took 1 day from order to deliver too.

All lcds I've seen came in a similar fashion, styrofoam on all sides.

One wonders why that one wasn't.

For the shame of it, hope you get the replacement soon.

Damn newegg is awesome. They approved the claim the same day as I filed it and shipped out the replacement this morning. They are also sending a courier to pick up the broken one straight from my house. Now that's service.

Newegg once had a delay in their warehouse shipping an item, they escalated my shipping service to second day air and also offered me 20 dollars off my next order, newegg has A grade service by all means.
