Dear TH users,

Since you would know of more games than I, what games support "smart" centered HUDs natively in aspect ratios wider than 16:9 (Game A)?

In otherwords, how does the HUD conform to your center display? With an option menu toggle (Game A), a set aspect ratio (Game B), or does it have an aspect ratio cap (Game C)?

For example...

Game A supports resolutions as narrow as 5:4. The HUD positions itself differently in each aspect ratio up to and including 16:9. When you go higher than 16:9 the game positions itself as if your resolution is one giant display unless you toggle a TH option that forces the HUD onto the middle third of your resolution which is the primary display.

Game B supports resolutions as narrow as 5:4. The HUD positions itself differently in each aspect ratio up to and including 16:9. When you go higher than 16:9 the game always uses the HUD positions of a certain aspect ratio like 4:3.

Game C is the same as game B except that the HUD stops readjusting after a certain aspect ratio, usually 16:9. So anything wider than 16:9 uses the 16:9 HUD positions.

Not sure if you want a complete list or just some examples, but off the top of my head:

A:
Burnout Paradise (toggle)
Serious Sam HD (free custom HUD size)
H.A.W.X. (natively centered)
Race Driver Grid (was C before patch)

B, except the HUD positions itself similarly in all ARs :
Scarface: The World Is Yours (.ini Surround, too)

C:
CMR Dirt
NFS Shift

So how does it know? Does the game assume any resolution with an aspect ratio wider than 16:9 is TH?

GRID is also in category C.

Far Cry 2

Pretty much any Source-engine game can be easily modded to have a center-screen HUD.

I would recommend you check the Detailed Widescreen Reports section for many of the games.

The quickest way I found was to view the games list (in the side navigation links) which should take you to an alphabetical list of games you can easy search, from there most games have a detailed report for tri screen gaming, unfortunately at the time of writting, it would appear that there is a problem with the main WSGF site where all links in the navigation take you to the main page only :(
