It looks like the weekend events were pretty much a bust. Do weekday events work better for people?

Being a family man I can say that most of my game time is either late at night or during a rare/random occurrence of 'free time'. Not much difference between weekdays and weekends. Basically, if I can jump into a game, I will.

What is somewhat difficult is knowing when and where games are happening. I know cynagen's TF2 server is posted on the homepage. Would it be possible to add a similarly visible area that simply announces upcoming events--game, time, server info, host, etc.? What about one of those scrolling 'feeds' I've seen on other sites that list recent forum posts--could one of those be customized so members can post event info in a special forum thread and have it appear there? Does Xfire have some kind of 'event announce' feature that a hoster can use to alert all WSGF Xfire users to an impending event? Just brainstorming ideas to promote connectivity between members...

If I've missed something that is already available please let me know.

GeneralAdmission

PS- I'll try to jump in on Wed.

Well crap. Nevermind. The latest update hasn't propagated to the server yet. I'll try back every now and again.

I'm right there with you on the "family man" thing. Weeknights actually work better for me, for some reason. This past week we had the event in red, in the TF2 box on the left nav. I guess it would be good to just set up a weekly event, stick to the schedule and try to get people to remember.

I wish that X-Fire and Steam had some sort of mass-mail. I could set up another Usergroup in the forum and email people through that.

I'm still getting the "Disconnect: Server uses different class tables" message every time I try to log in. I have no problems with any other server, so it's not my game. Any idea why?

Because you never report to me that there's been a TF2 update, so I can't restart the server in order to get it updated.

You also try every time there's been an update and i've not been informed of it. So I have no idea the server is out of date at all.

Ok, I'm not sure why I'm responsible for telling you when you need to update your server, but might I suggest scheduling it to stop and restart at maybe 3 in the morning everyday?

Sometimes people are playing then, not exactly nice.
