How do you set a custom resolution in Portal... or TF2 for that matter. Thanks.

Same as every other game based on the source engine:

If it's not listed, and you know it should be, there's a problem with the driver, not the game.

Also be sure you select the correct aspect ratio from the other drop down list on the graphics page.

Add it as a custom resolution in your video card's control panel.

Also, this is helpful:

Tried the search, no help. The search in these phpbb forums isn't very good.

Thanks for the info, though.

Hi, you can start the game with this settings in the portal launch options:

-w xxx -h yyy (where xxx is pixel in width and yyy pixel in height)

Yep, nice find. It didn't quite work, though. I added the -window variable as well. When I double clicked the short-cut, I got the small window that I was after (youtube size). But it crashed right before the game's main menu came up. I'll have to research why that happened. Might be Vista's fault, the games fault, ATis fault, dunno.

But thanks, that was exactly what I was after when I first posted.

The game may not be able to support that low of a resolution.
