I've searched and saw the RB6V posts but don't think they pertain to me........I just patched to 1.5 blah blah and I still cant get wide screen trying to run 1680x1050 and the new patch says enables wide screen and in options i can only go up to like 1280x960 or some crap so im up to date I think but how do I get to my res.? any help would be nice I haven't even played the game since Ive boughten it because of the wide screen issue.

If theres already an answer out there then my bad I looked but maybe not hard enough

It shows 640x480 in the options but the resolution in-game is 1680x1050 or whatever you set it to in the respatcher. I can at least play it almost perfect in 1680x1050.

I don't know about not seeing the resolutions on the selectable menu and it working or not, but 1280x800 just leads to a very dark screen, and 1440x900 appears only on a small portion of my screen (on every aspect ratio setting i've tried).

Both the WSGF patch and the latest official patch seem to work for me at 1920x1200. Have you tried lower ws resolution than the one you are interested in?

The second post explained why he might be having problems with the patch and it's bad widescreen support it then went on to suggest that asse9 do a search for the files to replace that enable the resolution he wants ...
All I did was provide that link for him ... so he didn't have to do that search ...

If you have come here to the WSGF looking help we will try to do just that if you come here with the attitude you seem to have you won't get very far.
I notice that you say the files aren't working for you but you didn't say what is happening or not as the case may be so how can you be helped ?
You then go on to say actually you only tried the first one ... but not the second ... yet you call the thread stupid.
Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean that it doesn't work for others and with that said it suggests is most likely the case that you are doing something wrong.

What you are describing usually happens if you use a resolution that your screen can't do.
Can you run your desktop at those resolutions ?
