on http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/Master_Games_List_-_G

it says support for Godfather is native - this is incorrect, there is support for 4:3 resolutions up to 1600x1200, but no widescreen ratios or resolutions higher than 1600x1200

Fixed. Widescreen resolutions *are* supported, but not natively. The MGL entry now links to the correct solution, and I've downgraded it from a C to a C-.

actually i tried that registry fix, it didn't seem to do anything to the game. i'll post some comparison screenshots in a minute

the source graphics are different - but the 1600x1200 is stretched to fill the screen, so they both look the same on the 1920x1200 monitor.

i guess it depends on what you mean by Widescreen Method: Registry - it does use all the 1920x1200 pixels, but like other EA games, it's only showing the data from the 1600x1200 image. does that count as widescreen support?

Those shots aren't from the same POV, so you can't use them as a comparison. Also, moving this thread to the discussion area.

That is not a valid measure of whether or not the game supports widescreen. Your hud may be stretched, but what is important is whether or not the 3d elements within the game are stretched, vert- or hor+. The only way to see that in a 2 screenshot comparison is for both screenshots to be from the same pov.
