Hello All,
I am receiving Dells new 30" LCD on Monday via FedEx and was wondering if any one has gotten it yet. I currently have the 24" LCD with 2 X 7800 GTX 512 in SLI with 57FX OC to 3200 Mhz with watercooling. My question is will games support 2560 x 1600 res or will 1900 x1200 be max resolution? Framerate is not a problems as with this setup most games run in the 100 FPS@ 1920 x 1200 res. All comments are welcome.

Thank you in advance.

Mike

You sir, have too much money :o

It should work with most modern games, a couple hacks might be needed though.....You should have asked before you bought the damn thing

Agree'd I work for dell, and the margin % of what they make from a 30" is like 77% it's way to pricey at the moment.

But hey I'm glad someone has bought one, I want to see pictures next to the 24"!!!! Good luck brother!

Hi Blackssr, Welcome to the forums. :D

So, you're getting the Dell 30" Widescreen Display? Awesome! Congrats on your purchase.

My question is will games support 2560 x 1600 res or will 1900 x1200 be max resolution?

That's a good question. I can verify that I have seen Half-Life 2's video options revealing 2560x1600 on an Apple 30" display. As for other games, I'm not sure. Technically I don't see why not, since adding custom resolutions like 1440x900 or 1680x1050 to my desktop via my Nvidia options usually reveals the same options in-game. So there's a good chance it will work for higher resolutions.

Please be sure to keep us up to date, i'd love to see how it works out for you. Enjoy that new display! :D 8)

Thanks for all responses. I do not have alot of money. I work 7 days a week. I own a retail Computer Store. Wholesale on the 30" LCD is $ 1640.00 + Shipping. A good deal when compared to the Apple 30". PC gaming is my passion. I have been gaming for nearly 12 years on the PC!
