WORKS WORKS WORKS WORKS WORKS !!!!!!! :bowdown

Thanks again, very cool to have both of these games up & running triple-wide. With the terrorist hunt these games provide many hours of re-playability. I was very sketchy about this series because all the screenshots I had seen were in 3rd person view, so I never took it seriously. I picked it up on a whim and after getting into the gameplay style and cover system, I kinda dig it! Getting these running in triple-wide is great for peeking around those corners.

I agree ;)

I have no stretching or scrunched up stuff. View looks right. However everything looks bigger. What I did is on my second pc which is 1680x1050 I set up a match and I put my player in the exact same place and took a pic.
Then I did the same with my eyefinity setup at 3150x1680. Both the 1680x1050 and the 3150x1680 showed the EXACT same amount of res or picture. The objects that were on the edges of the screens were in the exact same of both pics. It is just that the eyefinity screen had it all bigger to show the same stuff on the bigger screen like the fov is diff.

Let me see if I follow you correctly. Did you test 3150x1680 and 1680x1050 using the same executable and the same aspect ratio setting? If so, then one of those would actually have an incorrect FOV and the image would distort.

If I've missed something in the files I modded I'd like to make corrections (if possible). Do you have screenshots you can post of your testing? The best way to test is to load a savegame for each res and immediately take a screenshot without moving your character at all. Fraps, xfire, or Steam can all take screenshots, and http://imageshack.us/ has easy image hosting (make sure you choose the Do Not Resize option).

Thanks.

I am sorry to take your time like this General! I have two pc's I started game on both pc's and just did a lan deathmatch. My second pc has a 1680x1050 screen and of course my eyefinity machine is 3150x1680. If I use the new exe that you gave me on my eyefinity machine the amount of info on both screens is the same.

The entire triple screen is used however the distant buildings etc are closer than they should be. If I put the soldier from both pc's in an open area and face each other on my second machine the enemy soldier appears 200 yards away for example and on my eyefinty machine the enemy is 100-125 yards away.

If I pic a spot in the game with objects on the side and in height view and put the players from both pc's in the same place the things at the edges like doors etc are in the same place on both the old pc at 1680x1050 and my eyefinity machine at 3150x1680.

It is almost like the machine is taking the res of one screen and blowing it up over the 3 screens. It does tell me in the game menu the res is 3150x1680 and I am using 4:3 as aspect ratio. Although I have tried the 16:10 and 16:9 also. I also can use BM at 3284x1680 and that works great for the bezels.

I will try to take some pics for you as I am off today. I have never uploaded a photo in my life. Don't laugh. :oops: I don't even have a avatar. :lol:

The 1680x1050 is of course just using the stock game exe on my second machine

I am using the pef exe on my eyefinity pc. I am assuming that is for portrait eyefinity. CORRECT?

No worries about my time! Yes, the Portrait EyeFinity executable is the correct one. ;)

If the system running 3150x1680 with the pef exe is showing the exact same fov as a system using 1680x1050, then for some reason the custom FOV is not being recognized on the eyefinity machine. The best starting point for testing would be to take identical screenshots of the 3 aspect ratios (4:3, 16:9, 16:10) on the 3150x1680 machine using the pef exe. You don't even need to load a map--the main menu will show the changes just fine. For example:

Triplehead

Wide Triplehead

Is it possible to have it at 5760x1080????

Well, in fact, I have 3 1920x1080 monitors that provides me that 5760x1080, but with bezzel correction, I'm runing 5900x1080.

I'll appreciate very much if someone gives me the config. for playing 5760x1080 at least. I re-bought the game for 5 €, and want to rememorate the campaign mode with that resolution. It would be fantastic!

See ya ;)

Try these: Files available from https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files (search there)

Remember to backup your original .bin file and rename the one from the archive to just R6GameConfig.bin.

Thank you, the 5760x1080 works nicely.
Just reinstalled the game to play again, think I had a 470 the first time I played, now with a 980Ti.

Wasn't there a guide on how to do these edits manually? I recall having to make one for myself a couple years ago..

@tricky

Glad to see these are still proving useful.

@Abram

There is a dead link in the second post of this thread that might be what you used before. Do you need to create a new hack? Happy to help if I can.

I was considering it. I run PLP these days at 5198x1440. I haven't delved into editing for a while, but I'm sure I can slap oen together. OF course if you wanted to the legwork, I wouldn't say no... but I'm certainly capable. But i guess it'd be good to refresh my memory on such things.
