UPDATE: In a moment of insanity (or was it the margaritas?), I went for a GTX 780.
http://www.wsgf.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=26257

Want to treat myself to a new video card or cards.

Currently have 2xGTX 470s, and they run everything, but most new games cause the fans to run at 100% in triplewide with high detail.

Don't want to spend $1,000 right now, and want a card with 3 Gb or 4 Gb as video textures keep growing on games. I don't use texture packs, so I think 3 Gb would be good for me.

So not sure if I should go 2 GTX 660 Ti 3 Gb, or should I get 1 GTX 670 for now, and later get a second one.

From what I see, 1 GTX 670 4 Gb ($426 on Amazon) will do about the same as 2 GTX 470s, but will be smoother with the 4 Gb and run cooler.

670 vs 470 benchmarks

The 2xGTX 660 Ti 3 Gb ($310 x 2 = $620) will be a large boost, but may not be as future proof.

660 Ti vs 470 benchmarks

Or should I just stick it out for six more months with the fan noise and wait until I can afford a Titan or 690?

Thoughts and/or advice? Thanks!

(I cannot believe how expensive these cards are!).

I would say Titan, but I doubt it will be cheaper when you can afford in six months. If you want to buy a card right now, I would go with the 670 4gb CU II from ASUS.

If you can Wait..... there are a LOT of rumours out there that soon the GTX700er will launch!

GTX780 5gb aka Titan LE for 600-800$
GTX770 4gb aka 680 rebranded.
GTX760 2gb Ti aka 670 rebranded

Update:

EVGA has the best GTX 780 3 GB $659 coming out soon (reference GTX 780s are available now) and it compares to a Titan on most every test due to it's superboost of 25% over reference.

So I am now waiting on the GTX 770 $459 reviews when it comes out end of month.

Also to consider, might see some good deals on eBay for 680s once those users upgrade.
