Hello.

So far i was able to play older games on my monitors native resolution, thanks to tools like "ureschanger" or guys like you. For this game however, it seems like there is no way around. I did not find any ini or reg files to change, and the game seem to use directx 8, since no directx 9 injection worked. I also tried the Hex Tutorial on this site once. I found the entries for the resolution and changed em, but the game did start with error messages about the mouse input and i couldn't get any further.

The games resolution is stuck to 1024x768. You can imagine how that looks on a 24" monitor. My native resolution is 1920x1200. I usually play games on 1920x1080 with borders. So my goal would be either that, or 1600x1200 if only 4:3 would be possible.

The reason i wasn't asking for this earlier was that this is a pretty unpopular game. There is also little information about it, so its harder to find things out. I could not even find out what engine this runs on to try engine based methods for this game.

I always wanted to play this game since my old PC couldn't handle it. I appreciate any help on this. (windowed mode is not an option)

Great! Thank you jackfuste.

It works on my machine. I tried to compare your fixed exe with the original to see what you did, but yours is nearly 2 megabytes bigger. I have a EU retail copy so maybe the US exe is bigger by default (if that's what you used).

I would be interested in what you did to make it work. Earlier this day i tried the hex editing again, and found 4 times the values "0004 0000 0003" aka 1024x768, but as mentioned before, no matter which i changed (also in combination) it did not work (i tried "4006 0000 B004"). Separate "0004" and "0003" gave me way to many hits. So what did i do wrong?

If you feel like it, you could tell me, or point me to something to look into if it was more complicated. But Kudos anyway.

I have the same question as above except for the resolution which is 1680x1050. Could you please tell me what exactly should I change in joan.exe so it would work widescreen (the game won't start with the exe for 1920x1200)?
