Remember, for those running on Windows 7, there is a good chance that you can roll back to a previous version of the game if you regret updating it.

1. Turn off automatic updates for the game on steam (it should stay this time, since steam apparently fixed the issue)
2. Exit steam completely.
3. Go to your steam installation/steamapps/common/ folder.
4. Right click on the skyrim folder and go to Properties.
5. Restore a previous version of the folder, before you updated it.
6. Restart steam and play using the last known good patches for you.

The only time this won't work is if you have steam installed on the non-OS hard drive and you haven't told it to have the same previous-version properties of the OS hard drive, it may not have any previous version info of the folder otherwise.

I used this feature to play for a while until 0.9 fixed the game for me.

Is 9 working for you? Every time I fast travel or get an achievement I CTD. So frustrated.

Its working perfectly fine here, no CTDs after maybe 25 hours of gameplay.
Skyrim v1.3 + HaYDeN's fix v0.9 + this 4Gb patch.

I saw here that maybe the coast was clear and started using 9 and updated. BIG mistake. I have read every page up to this point and need to ask - am I missing something? Using ver.9 and latest Scream updates.

Everything was great using 4b and never connecting to Steam. Maybe it has something to do with the game and Steam being on another drive than the OS?

I tried that 4Gb patch and no dice, game still crashed with .9 (running skyrim 1.3). I had the option disabled to back up folders so attempting to restore to a previous point won't work.

I have a problem with the NV Surround. The best way to describe it is that the charter's shadow and texture are off... way off. That is the shadow of my character will appear in the center of the frame, while it's texture will be on the left. Please advice!!!

Please try the attached .ini file (its set to 5040x1050), unzip it at C:Users...DocumentsMy GamesSkyrim, if it doesnt work try to reinstall video drivers.

also reinstalled driver.. doesnt work either.. driver version is 290.36

here is the screen shot i took after using your ini and reinstalling the driver... figured it is easy to see the problem when he is in snow... =)
