Not realy... my Dell U2311H only needs 33Watt! So a bigger screen might use around 50 to 70 Watt!

my 46" samsung lcd (cathode based) only draws about 85w. it goes just over 100 if you crush the brightness, but no need for that.

Looks cool. Any latency induced by the panel signal processing circuitry? Sometimes HDTVs have input lag. Some TVs have a gaming mode though.
