Hi All !!

I need some help.

I just purchased a single HIS Radeon HD 6770 video card and 3 Dell Ultrasharp U2412M monitors (24”) and I could use some guidance from you guys on connections for an Eyefinity set-up. Specifically, I’m asking for guidance or confirmation regarding connections between video card and monitors.

The HIS video card has three types of connection ports (a single full Displayport, a single HDMI port, and two DVI ports). Each Dell monitor has a single Displayport connection port, a single DVI connection port, and a single VGA connection port. My OS is Windows 7 Professional with SP1. I’ve downloaded all the AMD Catalyst drivers (11.10) but have not hooked up the monitors yet.

Is this the correct connection scheme or have I missed the mark?

HIS Single DP output -----------------------------------------→ Single DP input (Dell 1st Monitor)

HIS DVI 1st available output ---------------------------------------→ DVI input (Dell 2nd Monitor)

HIS DVI 2nd available output -------------------------------------→ DVI input (Dell 3rd Monitor)

Also, do I configure the Catalyst software before hooking up the monitors or after. I assume after but this is all new to me and so thought I’d better ask before getting into trouble.

Thanks.

:welcome :)

You have the cable connectivity spot on. :D

It also does not matter to install drivers before or after the monitors are connected but you will need all monitors connected to be able to create an eyefinity group in the catalyst drivers, so I would reccomend connecting everything up then installing and configing the drivers/software. :)

Thanks Delphium!! [Big sigh of relief on this side of the Atlantic] I'm waiting on the delivery of my DP to DP cable. This is also my first build so I'm on an adventure here.

Once again, THANK YOU.
