I have one Dell U2711 and two Dell G2410's. I've been trying to get Surround working as I recently got a second GTX 570 and thought I might as well try it out. When I activate surround I only get a maximum of resolution of 3840 x 1024. I've read up on 3d surround and I've seen that it will only use the maximum common resolution between the monitors and polarity must also be the same. I've looked up the monitors one the dell site and found out the specs of the two monitors.

U2711

The strange thing is the U2711 doesn't seem to have a profile for 1920 x 1080. I've seen some others use a program changing the monitors drivers to change profiles I believe? Maybe I just have to add one in for the U2711? Why is it missing a profile for one of the most common resolutions around these days anyway? To be honest I've only really been looking at this issue this morning and don't really know what I'm talking about. Any one come across this issue before/figured it out?

Thanks,

Tech specs-
Intel 2600k (4.6ghz)
ASUS P67 Sabretooth B3

MSI GTX 570 Frozr II, Gainward GTX 570 GLH

Hey mclean, welcome to WSGF, the U2410 is a 1920x1200 16:10 widescreen monitor and the U2711 a 2560x1440 16:9 monitor, whats the resolution (surround) are you trying to setup ?
3D Surround wont work anyway, since it requires three identical (same make and model) 3D Vision Ready LCDs.

Yeah I just wanted to run 2dsurround at 1920x1080 (games don't look too bad at 1920x1080 on the U2711 surprisingly). The other two monitors are G2410's which are also 16:9.

Ah ok, my bad, i thought "U2410", well 2D surround requires all displays must have a common resolution, refresh rate, and sync polarity.
As you can check in the pics you posted, the max preset display modes (common resolution) of the monitors you're running is exactly 1280x1024 (3 x 1280x1024 = 3840x1024, thats what you currently get).
Try to run the U2711 as single monitor and set it to 1920x1080, set SLI on. Turn off the PC, only then connect the two G2410, and then try to activate in NCP surround at 5760x1080, see how it goes.
You may alternatively try to use MonInfo and Phoenix EDID, you can find some info in these threads :

^i have 2x dell 22" @ 1080 and 1x hp 24 @ 1200 at work.in sli.

doing the above worked for me, but the screen res's dont match up well and the bezels are totally different, i can get it sort of ok with bezel correct, but the amount cut off is pretty huge. even thought the center monitor being huge is awesome, for WSG.. it would be better with a smaller monitor that matched the sides :P

my 2 cents anyway
