Well I could have sworn I read that the 6xxx series can do a 3x Eyefinity plus an additional fourth display in Extended mode. I just hooked up my old 20" and CCC tells me it's not possible to extended with my current setup, which is 3x landscape.

Using mini-DP to DP and f 2x DVI for Eyefintiy, and mini-DP to DVI for the fourth. Am I missing something? Has anyone had luck with this? I'd rather not have to get a cheesy card just to run this 4th display... The new monitor is using a DVI-D. Should I use a DVI-I?

This makes me a sad panda.

Win 7 x64, 6950 2gb, CCC 11.7.

EF uses 3x 1920x1200 displays, the fourth is 1680x1050.

It can do and it should do, however you can not use both DVIs and the HDMI at the same time (only 2 of the 3), the setup I'm using is both DPs and 1 DVI for my eyefinity monitor, and the HDMI for my TV.

Hmm.. But the only HDMI display i have is my center monitor.. guess it's time to shop at Monoprice again. Perhaps I can get away with swapping a DVI and a Mini-DP.

This does work. You just have to make sure the mini-dp to DVI adapter is an active adapter. I have this exact same setup and it did not work until I got an active mini-dp to dvi adapter.

Hm i as afraid of that. I actually just got my HDMI to DVI cable in teh mail today. I'll give it a go and report back.

Well, still a no-go. I guess I have to acquire an active adapter. Shit.

This was a pretty standard headache when Eyefinity initially came out. The cards only have 2 legacy clocks for the ports. So, only two of the three legacy ports will work at once. Just requires another active dp adapter and it'll work though.

if your monitor has displayport support you can get a mini-DP to DP connector instead. they are significantly cheaper than an active minidp to dvi connector.
