Since my post on figuring out how to do this via command line script with the NVIDIA API hasn't had much traction, I've created an AutoHotKey script that does the switch for me.
This script allows me to:
Control-Alt-S: Go into surround mode, enable a 140 bezel correction, and change the resolution to 4072x720
Control-Alt-A: Re-enable all displays active, which auto defaults to 5760x1080
Just download AutoHotKey, run it, right click on the tray icon, edit script, and insert what's in the attached file. You will of course need to edit the delays and numbers to suit your needs, but from reading the script you should be able to figure out how.
BTW, not sure what's going on with the forum, but if moderators are reading this, I'm getting an HTML editor even though HTML isn't being displayed. And it took me forever to figure out that having a link to the AutoHotKey site was triggering a spam filter. Something going on?
