Thanks for your reply, but in the game launcher 3840x1024 is not there.

I can only use 2400x800 otherwise if I choose a upper resolution i've got the DirectX3D error...

What is the best Aspect Ratio for 2400x800 and how do you calculate ?

so 6004x1200 a no-go? :D
Unless you find a way to encode that res + refresh rate in 8 hex characters, yes.

What is the best Aspect Ratio for 2400x800 and how do you calculate ?
2400:800=3
This strange res is actually 3x 800x800... :? What "upper resolutions" do you see ?

Your 3x 16:9 setup probably doesn't support 3840x1024. Can you use any 3x 16:9 res lower than 5760x1080 ? (e.g 3x 1366x768, 3x 1280x720...)

Are your monitors not widescreen?

As I understand it, 48000 is derived by 16:10 = 1.6 x 3 = 4.8 (and then for some reason) x 1000 = 48000

So for non-widescreen I would try 4:3 = 1.33 x 3 = 4 x 1000 = 40000

Good luck! Am at the lava level, the jumping over lava and trying not to die is getting a bit old...also got a few crash to desktops...

Another thought, did you try forcing 3840x1024 by editing the registry?

I think you right about the 2400x800 res. Sorry can't remember exactly... When i'm back to home I will see and post more details...

Thanks for you reply scavvenjahh. You're in France like me alors "Bien le bonjour et merci pour ta réponse !!!"

Are your monitors not widescreen?

They are widescreen, my eyefinity res is 3x1920x1080 (details in my sig)

Another thought, did you try forcing 3840x1024 by editing the registry?
FullscreenModeID 0x3b400f00 (994053888)

Not sure i will try again because when I did the trick my FullscreenModeID was 0x3C400f00 (10108831104) it's not the same as you can see...

So for non-widescreen I would try 4:3 = 1.33 x 3 = 4 x 1000 = 40000

Thanks i will try

Good luck! Am at the lava level, the jumping over lava and trying not to die is getting a bit old...also got a few crash to desktops...

This level was difficult for me too, especially with the T-Rex... :hide

Yesterday i bought a new xbox wireless pad (a pink one because it was for my wife !). And then we did the first level together... It was the first time for my wife on a platform game and the experience has been awesome...

Hmm with the limitation of 3 bytes I guess it makes sense to use a normal resolution that is lower than your native.

It just would be most natural thing to try, drop to the next lowest normal resolution of your monitor. However since your doing a custom res via editing I would think you could extract the highest quality result by using the highest resolution possible.

So that would be FFF for the width aka 4095 width and then determine the correct height for the proper aspect ratio.

I have a little spreadsheet I use for video encoding to resize my videos, using that sheet here are my results.

3x 16:10 monitors with a native resolution of 5760x1200 in eyefinity/surround should be 4095x853
in hex 0x3CFFF355

3x 16:9 monitors with a native of 5760x1080 should be 4095x768
in hex 0x3CFFF300

My bezel compensation resolution of 6004x1200 should be 4095x818
in hex 0x3CFFF332

Any flaws in my reasoning?

I know from say using photoshop that while it makes sense that keepin a perfect pixel multiple should give best results when interpolating that its not really true when your in a high pixel count. a 200 pixel image scaled to a perfect 2x 400pix image would not look as good as a 366 pixel image scaled to 400pixel even though the multple is not even the higher visual data there compensates for it and still gives more detail especially in a game with small details like this one.

From what I read thats the refresh rate and a 3B = 59hz and most of us use 60hz so it would be 3C to have a 60hz refresh rate.

This is why all the values I put above are using 3C infront of the resolution values.

OK thanks for the explanations.

But i'm not sure that forcing the res value in the registry do something. It seems that you can only use res that are in in the Game Config Launcher or in the display options menu in the game. And as I already wrote i have no 3840x1024 res (i look also in CCC desktop properties)

I will control all that as soon as i come back home...

Thanks again. So cool to have answers...

1600x900 and 5760x1200 don't work either. I did get 2400x800 to work, with the proper Aspect value in, it displayed right - just very low res.

3240x1920 (3x1080x1920 in Portrait) does work. The values on the "FullScreenModeID" are 0x3c780c8 (1014500520). This changes when you change the res. If we can decode it, maybe we can get 3x1-L
So 3c780c8 works for 3240x1920.
-3C is for 60 (Hz) and represents the refresh rate. Good.
-780 (hex) is 1920 (dec). Display height. Good !
-c8 (hex) is... 200 (dec). :| BUT ca8 is 3240...
So the game apparently "gets" that c8 is really ca8.

At this point, I'm lost - but hey, we're getting warmer.

Ibrin, 1600x900 does work... It's supported natively on my system and "FullScreenModeID" is 3c384640. :?
