Hey there. I am running into the same problem where I run swgbwide.exe and pick the swgb.patch and it gives an error cannot find output.txt. Running Win 7 x64. UCE is off and I have tried "Run as Administrator" with the same result. If I create an empty file called output.txt and run the program, output.txt dissapears and nothing else happens.

Per the previous suggestion, I put aoe_x1.exe, AoE2Wide.exe, and AoE2Wide.RootPatch into the same folder and tried to patch this way. The problem is the program only wants to mess with the aoe_x1.exe file and does nothing to battlegrounds_x1.exe.

For those who can't get this to work, here are some random bits of data that may or may not be pre-patched .exes and .drs

1280x720
1280x768
1280x800
1600x900
1920x1080

Can anyone help me with this, It keeps telling me that output.txt is not found, and I've got in the right game directory. I tried using the above 1920x1080 files above but I don't think I used them right. I put the drs files into the Game/Data folder, and tried renaming them to interfac and interfac_x1, and also not renaming them. I put the exe in the Game folder and tried to launch it from that, but my screen is all screwed up, the ui is messed up and everything is pink apart from a small corner in the top left which has the game window.

What do I have to do with the files above to get them to work?

Much appreciated, dieing to play this in larger resolution.

When I try to installa the patcher, it gives me the following error:

An errore occurred: Cannot locate the game dirctory (where I expect language_x1.dll). Please run AoE2Wide from the game folder or a subfolder of it.

Does it mean that I have to install AoE2 and its wide patcher too?

I own a copy of SW Galactic Battlegrounds Saga, which includes the original and the Clone Campaigns expansion. I downloaded the SWGBWide.exe and the AoE2Wide_swgb.patch patch file, put them both in C:Program FilesStar Wars Galactic Battlegrounds SagaGame and ran the SWGBWide.exe. I click the browser button and locate the patch file. It immediately complains about having no output.txt file at C:Program FilesStar Wars Galactic Battlegrounds SagaGameoutput.txt. If I create a empty output.txt file in the directory, it disappears and nothing else happens. When I launch the game I get 800x600 resolution. I can select 1280x1024 and the game will run at that resolution, but no matter what I do, no 1920x1080.

I also tried those files that may contain some data pertaining to this game as posted above. I dropped the .drs files, as they are named, into the C:Program FilesStar Wars Galactic Battlegrounds SagaGameData directory. I then copied age2_x1_swbg_1920x1080.exe and renamed it to battlegrounds_x1.exe. Is this correct? The steps in the first post mention a batch file which was not included.

Also, the first post mentions that you need to use a no cd fixed exe. Since the patcher supposedly patches the exe file, how can I replace that same exe file with the no cd fixed version and ever expect it to work?

Can someone who has gotten this to actually work lay out the proper steps needed with some detail to get this working. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Okay. I finally got this to kinda work. Here are the steps I took. Only works with the missions from the Clone Campaigns

1. Installed the game.
2. Make sure the game is version 1.1. If not, update.
3. Download a No CD fixed exe for the Clone Campaigns and replace the one in the Game directory. I backed up my original by adding .bak to the filename before adding the fixed exe.
4. Create an empty output.txt file in the Game directory.
5. Add both the SWGBWide.exe and AoE2Wide_swgb.patch to the Game directory and run SWGBWide.exe
6. Click browse and select AoE2Wide_swgb.patch
7. It should patch successfully. Keep in mind that the frontend UI menus will not be in widescreen, just the in game part.

Great job on the patch guys. One question for the developers of this patch though... Why can't I play the missions from the original Galactic Battlegrounds with this patch? The game crashes whenever I try to play any of those missions. I can provide the crash dump if that will help, but it is a lot of text, too much for this forum.

Hi guys,

Sorry it has been so long since I replied to this, my forum didn't subscribe! I will need to update the GUI a bit to fix the output.txt error, it's uneccesary to output it there anyways. I will update the patcher program and try to post some better instructions.

I haven't quite figured out the mission issues either, it seems that only normal game play gets patched right. I will have to look into the DRS files again.

Could this be a 64 bit windows issue? Does it need the exact .Net framework?

I tried it on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and at first I got the output.txt errror, created a dummy one and then tried it again, it just sits there and does nothing.

Thank you for all your work on this!
