I have 9 1600 x 1200 20" lcds and I am looking to create a video wall/gaming setup. I'm not expecting great fps performance out of the setup but I'd like to run some simulators and media content at a reasonable fps.

I have been browsing all the forums including this one. All the info I have found is either dated or in a different language. I did a search here and found a thread about a user doing 6 monitors with TH2G0 and SoftTh.

I have not purchased any hardware except for a 1kw corsair.

I would say your best bet will be to use 3x ati 5xxx cards which each have 3 outputs... create a vertical eyefinty group of 3 monitors with each card.
Then use SoftTh to span the 3 vertical groups.

Thanks for the answer. Just to make sure this what you are saying

1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3
--SoftTH--

Three 5xxx cards setup in 3 different eyefinity groups shown above. Use SofTh to spawn across 1-2-3.

I didn't know eyefinity could be setup vertically. I also did not know that multiple eyefinity groups could be setup on 3 different cards in the same system. Unfortunately, the monitors do not have a DP and I will have to purchase three active adapters.

Remember you can use DP->VGA adapters, which are cheaper and work without a hitch for most people.

Cool thanks!

Would there be an uniformity issues compared to those that are connected via dvi?

I currently use 3 VGA adapters, and 2 DVI Adapters. Color wise I don't generally have issues, but I have very cheap monitors, and sometimes I have to hit the Auto adjust on one of my VGA monitors to get it Look "Correct." But that's a mild issue, I have 5 Dell s2309w's, which are a bit dated and were on the low end models that came with Dell Pre-Fab Computers.
