This is mostly for playing the Xbox and TV watching (rarely PC used). Cost is not an issue. I could get a 30" Dell for less than 1k (about 800-900) or a 42" Samsung (2008 Model) for about the same price.

If you could choose, which one would it be?

I would rather have the monitor, I would probably use it for pc every once in a while, and the decent res would be nice.

Are u using it for PC also? Make sure that 30" monitor will scale well with XBox360 games which are 1080p. TVs are cheaper.

Playing Xbox and watch tv? Go for the TV. The 30" has no scaler and you'll struggle with input and resolutions.

For PC gaming, go with the 30".

Title was a little misleading. However this is what I am thinking of.

Samsung LN46A650

or

Dell 3008WFP

For the PC I have 3x1 U2410 ATM (w/ Eyefinity 6)

This would be playing Netflix, Xbox 360, and TV (AND it would be connected to the PC Via HDMI/DVI).

Be careful, Samsungs are infamous for input lag. Sharp 700UN series has little to no lag in game mode.

Why won't you just use your center monitor (eyefinity) for XBox.

HDTVs are kings for gaming, 30" monitors are kings for work.
