The game still feels like its in low res. the res in my game options is 800x600. Should i put it on the max res which is 1280x1024 or something like that? i cannot set the in game resolution to 640x480. i tried to do it via the EXE but its still not 1920x1080. Also i think i need the 1.1 patch as im getting sound looping issues.

The hex edit replaces 640x480, so use that.

I dont understand can you help me out? im not very good at hex editing. Do i still need the exe you did for me? And like i said the in game options fddoes not have 640x480 for me. Also silent hill 2 did not come out on pc. They only brought the directors cut version out for the pc.

The link is stil valid: http://www.2shared.com/file/qwwefpuX/sh2pc1920x1080.html

Install the game.
Start the game
Get the graphics options setup with the way like, and select 640x480 as your resolution.
Exit the game.
Download that file, and extract the fixed .exe to replace your current one.
Start the game, and it's should be displaying at 1920x1800.

Remember that this is only for the Directors' Cut version of Silent Hill 2. If you have the original version of the game, then you will have to get the official patch, then hex-edit the appropriate cracked .exe that can be acquired from GameCopyWorld or a similar site.

ALL the information you need for doing it is in the links i first provided.

I just got round to trying the EXE you saved for me. And it does not work. Games says exe has stopped responding. The game is the DC also.

Then i guess you're fucked.

But seriously, all the info you need to do it yourself is in this thread and the links therein.... it looks daunting, but is actaully pretty easy, thanks to previous efforts of other users.
