When trying to find the email address of someone at a company, the way to do it is to take the person's name and match it to an email address you can publicly find from the company. This person's name is Erik Deitrick. The thing to do is to find the format of the company's email system. The best place to do that is in a press release. Company press contacts often have their name and email address at the bottom. You can find out the format used by the company:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
etc., etc., etc.

I tried looking up press releases for Bethesda, but all I found were these at bethblog.com

http://www.bethblog.com/category/press-release/

They are listed, but none of them have contact information at the bottom. The contact page there redirects to bethsoft.com

http://www.bethsoft.com/eng/contact.php

Which simply has a form. Bethesda is owned by ZeniMax

http://www.zenimax.com/contact.htm

But there are no email addresses either. Best I can do at this point is to try and call them and get through to either that UI designer and possibly the Executive Producer of Skyrim (whom we sent our awards to). With this community and Google, maybe we can find the email format.

This tactic comes from an article at the Consumerist about launching an "Executive Email Carpet Bomb".

I had been running fine on Helifaxs great fix until this recent update to the game...

The email for the Skyrim UI designer guy was posted BY HIMSELF on the Bethesda blog: http://www.bethblog.com/2008/01/23/inside-the-vault-erik-deitrick/

So as far as I am concerned he is fair game.

My favorite quote from Mr. Deitrick's post...

"Beyond that I like working with the artists and designers to implement the cool stuff that they come up with. I also like having a final product that I can point to after all of the hard work, especially one that a lot of people enjoy."

....Personally, I like his menus.

His menu's are fine, as long as they scaled properly for eyefinity that is! (which they currently don't)

You can put me down for $20 as well for some source from Hayden.. I bet the number will keep getting bigger too. C'mon man, if life is busy, we get that, but why not let someone else help, especially if you're going to be well paid for it?

The pledge update for Hayden is as follows:

2 @ $50
1 @ $25
3 @ $20
1 @ $10

That's $195 pledged so far for Hayden's fix. Who's with me? Post any amount you are willing to pledge in this forum and I will keep track of it.

Fix or source? I'd really love some community work on this, maybe we could keep up with Beth destroying out work that way ;p

Make it $25, just so it's up to 200 ;p I'd give more, but I'm pretty damn broke...

You have to be kidding me if you really think this guy uses this e-mail for anything other than junk mail, free naked pictures, and porn subscriptions!

I am not a fan of Bethesda on this game design but in reality they have the right to create and support this game in any way they see fit. We are a very small handful of people who really want to play this game on multi-monitors and it doesn't make much marketing sense for them to commit resources to support this game in the capicity we want. It does boggle my mind that the company itself wouldn't want to see or play this game internally on multi-montors however. This really is the part that surprises me the most. I just can't believe they aren't using multi-montiros to enjoy their own creation to it's fullest internally and if they do have a solution that allows them to do this internally it would be a true shame not to impletment or deliver it to their customers. Either way, this part just blows my mind.

Other than that I have my own fix with the help of Helifax's fix and some other peoples work that is getting me by. I wish I knew what tools HaYDeN uses to create and package his fix and I would put time into learning how to do it myself if someone pointed me in the right direction but I just don't know how to package a fix the way he does.
