Read Full Detailed Report - Breath of Fire IV

Breath of Fire IV is part of the popular console-RPG series developed by Capcom. The fourth installment of this series makes the rare jump to the PC gaming world.

Create your three-person party from a selection of six varied individuals including the winged Nina, the fox-kin Ursula, the cat-like Cray, and the mysterious, dragon-kin, Ryu. A console-style battle system awaits you with unique twists like the combination system that allows consecutive attacks to synergize with each other. Customize your characters development with master trainers located throughout the game that bestow new skills and abilities to your party.

The MGL lists this game as supporting widescreen resolutions natively. Is this correct? If so, then:

==Grading==

Calculated grade: D+

Major unresolved issues: None
Minor unresolved issues: None

Summary of widescreen-related flaws:
Stretched gameplay
Stretched HUD
Stretched FMVs

Cranky's coverage estimate: 100%

I edited the profile.

16:9 has more stretching than 16:10.

was changed to...

16:9 has more distortion than 16:10.

Makes more sense as the 16:10 image is stretching less than the 16:9 and results in the "compressed" look.
