Serious Sam is an FPS from Croteam and Gathering of Developers. You play as Sam "Serious" Stone, and do battle with thousands of alien nasties throughout various historical set-pieces, using an array of diverse and enormous weapons.

The game has a combo system for stringing lightsaber attacks and for combining lightsaber attacks with Force powers. Experience points earned by killing enemies and finding artifacts can be used to increase Starkiller's powers and traits.

The game is seperated from the average FPS game by using mainly the Civil War and World War 1 and its settings, two time periods not often depicted in action video games. Sometimes you will use period weapons which are slow and cumbersome, and then you will be granted a modern day weapon with which to cause havoc, which always feels very satisfying.
