I've been trying to get KOTOR to run on my laptop for a few hours now but cant get it to work. Well, I can get it to run in the resolution 1366x768 but when it does it has no dialogue on the bottom of the screen. I've looked at the guides and attempted to follow the instructions to the letter but i've been unsuccessful. If anyone could possibly reword the steps for me and walk me though this i would appreciate it greatly. (Im new to the forums btw.)

IIRC KOTOR's engine has a minimum vertical resolution quirk that causes this dialog problem. A lot of effort (including my own personal attempts) has gone into finding a fix but to my knowledge it was never resolved. Given the ongoing popularity of the game, if any fix is discovered it will probably appear in the forums here rather quickly.
