I would like to run hellgate london across two monitors (hp2509m and hp2511x)

They are driven by a single bmg 275 gtx.

I have edited the game settings to read 3840X1080, when run, both monitors go dark, but then the second one goes back to desktop and the game loads on one monitor.

I don't need 3 monitor support, so I am hoping to be able to do this in software without buying a second card.

I know it's been done with ifinity, but I don't have ati card.

Please help a noob multi-monitor gamer...

Eyefinity wont help! The game is Ver-, means you have the same FoV as with one Monitor over three Monitors..... looks horrible!

Nvidia removed the horizontal span option in Vista and Win7(to combine two display to one large surface), which is what you need in order to get some dual monitor action. You probably have to use windows xp or try with Softth.
