My Setup:

3 x 27" Planar 60hz 1920x1080 monitors

2 x 6970 ASUS (2 x DVI + 1 x DP)

Intel i7 930 OC 4.2ghz

6GB OCZ RAM

120GB SSD SATAIII

850W Corsair PSU

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Problem:

I have Eyefinity running across 3 monitors (5760x1080). There are many games that do play nice with Eyefinity, however there are a few that either don't work at all or aren't played the best at that high a resolution.

For instance: Dragon Age Origins.

Here is a screenshot of 5760x1080 (Eyefinity): http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/3273/daorigins5760x1080fulls.jpg

Now the problem with Dragon Age in Eyefinity is that you lose all ground clutter and trees. As you can see, nothing in front of me there.

Here is a screenshot of 1920x1080 in Windowed mode: http://img863.imageshack.us/img863/8284/daorigins1920x1080windo.jpg

Same place as before. Trees and everything is pretty. However, with Windows 7, I cannot get to the bottom action bar well. In windowed mode, the game is pushed below the Windows taskbar so it is hard to interact with it.

Here is a screenshot of 1920x1080 in Full Screen mode: http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/2321/daorigins1920x1080fulls.jpg

Fish-eyed like crazy. Not sure if it is a FOV (Field of View) issue, but it looks like it. This is unplayable (worse than windowed mode) and makes no sense to me. The native display of one of the monitors is 1920x1080 yet it doesn't look right at all. IF I disable Eyefinity and just go 3 x 1920x1080 monitors, it will work without a problem.

This problem also occurs with Metro2033.

Anyone have a clue as to why 1920x1080 fullscreen mode doesn't display properly when I have Eyefinity enabled?

Thanks for the help on this one. It is driving me nuts. I hate having to disable eyefinity just to play a game in 1920x1080.

Ninefingers

**Update**

World of Warcraft seems to handle the fullscreen 1920x1080 fine without the fisheye issue. Any ideas on how to make DA:O act like WOW? (or think it is WOW?)

Have you chosen a preffered monitor on your eyefinity setup, I choose the middle monitor and 1920x1080 games are shown on there with eyefinity enabled,

its in the new CCC 11.4 preview drivers here :http://www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/hotfix/r...n7_march23.exe

under eyefinity setup there is an option to choose your preffred display.

good luck hope this helps

Sal.

I recommend disabling EyeFinity if you're going to be playing 1920x1080. Some games detect the aspect ratio from your desktop resolution regardless of in-game resolution. I even go a step further and turn off my side monitors so they don't distract me.

^^likewise. I just created a new "preset" that cuts me down to a single, middle display and don't have problems. My other displays fall asleep when applied. Did so to play borderlands, which doesn't support eyefinity for squat.

Now have the following presets to suit the need: span (desktop use, 3 mon), group (5992x1080), group_lowres(4992x900), single (middle 1920x1080)
