As the title says i still can get the 5040X1050 running yet.
firstly my setup
I have the
Vista 32
TH2G DE - i have tried beta download and the latest is now installed
GTX260 - I am running the 182.5 driver at the moment but tried older also
LG W2252TQ - are on the known working list of monitors

the best res i can get is 4320X900 60Hz
5040X1050 57Hz is in matrox as an option also nvidia display options and vista display settings. I get the same message everytime i try to switch to it.
Out of range 50.8kHz/48Hz
I go to custom display and try the setup for 57 and still can seem to get this thing going.

I now running out of ideas. Ive been removing and installing drivers for the last 5 days now and nothing.....

can anyone help please?

Try the beta powerdesk, i have a similar setup (Vista 32 bits + Beta Powerdesk + 182.50 drivers), plus the same 3 x LGW2252TQ and it works perfectly at 5040x1050 57Hz.
You should set 5040x1050 at matrox GXM setup, then click on "change".

I had the same problem initially,

You need to add a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel as per this post:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9741

If the resolution already exists as a custom res, delete it first other wise it will not work.

Once you have this custom res, test and apply it.

You must also be using the PowerDesk-SE (GXM) beta version. i think the bersion number is 2.4.x.x.

Dont be alarmed if the 5040x1050 res is the Powerdesk does not work, as mine dont either.

Hope this helps

ok so now im getting close....

I have found out what i was doing wrong to get it to not display the OSD out of range.
I wasnt selecting the CVT Reduced Blank first. now i do see a picture when i go to custom resolutions... but
I enter all the details in and do test, it then says it will now set the custom display mode and revert back if I do not confirm within 15 secs.
once i select ok i am told custom mode test failed and it reverts back.
How do i save this custom mode?
im almost there

Have you tried / set the matrox powerdesk to run your triple setup at 5040x1050 57 Hz ?

I just tried this one and it says the out of range.
it seems i just cant get the custom resolution to actually save. After the test and the fail all i am left to do is cancel or close the custom resolution without saving. If i can sort that part out it will all be good.

ITS WORKING!!!

Thanks everyone for your help and ideas on what to try.

I ended up going into the custom resolution settings and after if failed the test i just left it open, I then opened and set 5040x1050 at matrox GXM setup, then click on "change" that was it.
It seemed if i closed the custom resolution settings it wasnt saving it but just leaving it open was the trick for me.
now to try some games out.....
