Ok I'm building my new pc and i'm tring to decide on the video cards for it....

basic sys specs. (project in progress) :

cpu- amd Ph II 955
MoBo - dfi 790fxb-m3h5
ram - 4x 2048mb patriot 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 ddr3
psu - Cooler Master UCP 900W or PC Power and cooling silencer 910w
hdd - WD caviar black 1TB
pri O.S. win 7 RC x64 - 750Gb of hdd
sec O.S. win xp x64 - 200Gb
legacy O.S. win xp x32 - 50Gb

I'm looking at 4800 series cards... mostly trying to choose between
2x 4890 1Gb cards (prolly HIS or Sapphire) (cost approx $600 shipped)
2x 4870 1GB cards (same likely) (cost approx $400 shiped)
2x 4870X2 2GB cards (brand undecided) (cost starting at $800)

primary display will either be tri panel display thru a matrox Tripple head (digital)... looking at 3x 19" 4:3 aspect ratio monitors at max res 3840x1024 (single display at 1280x1024) or 3x 22" - 24" ish widescreens runing 4320x900

I thought up one more option last night also.....

running a 4870x2 on a DH2G (or just two outputs of a TH2G) runing 3840x1200
and running a 4870 (or 90) stand alone at 1920x1200, then using windows to merge these displays this would get me a little more total display room but i know that this type of setup used to run into a few issues now and again....

I'm leaning towards the 4890's but i can-t figgure out if i'd get better performance from the 4870x2's or if its even worth going beyond just the two 4870's

I'd like some sugestions preferably from someone who's used some of these cards and there relative performance...

thanx yall....

I don't think Crossfire is supported by TH2Go. So that was your idea, as it appears to be, it will not run in Crossfire. I could be wrong though, but I feel certain I read this somewhere during my research.

TH2Go does support nVidia's SLI though, so you may want to look at some of their offerings.
