This is probably an old question, but im looking for a way to fix the aspect ratio in WoW. I know theres a zoom out fix, but im looking for a way to actually get the same zoom out as regular resolutions.

yeah, i dont think there is a way around it.

seems to be programmed into the game to have a max FOV value.

if you use the addin ctviewport you can reduce the width of the screen and it will actually give you vert+... but it is funny looking at the chat windows with black background.

if anyone knows of anything, i am sure it would be available quite easily.

:(

could you elaborate on the FOV problem? Also why it is a pain?

I was thinking of upgrading from a 24inch dell WS monitor to a surround video setup, but it would be strictly for wow. Your comments make me nervous.

Firstly, don't hesitate, as the pro's for more interface space huuuuuuugeeeelllyyyyy outnumbers the lack of correct FoV.

If no-one had said anything, i wouldn't have even noticed. For me, one of the best games for having a widescreen is WoW for addon mess.
The game is Vert- (mostly) and the FoV doesn't correctly compensate, but in my opinion it's hardly noticeable.

oh, :welcome

and do you mean a screenshot of the interface or a picture of the PC/monitor setup?

You can see at least one screenshot of sizerkozak's drool-worthy setup Here ;)

http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/products/th2go/gaming/wow.php

dont really show anything

I checked out your link. I agree that is a nice setup and similar to what I am going for. What I don't like is that first shot where he is playing WoW. The UI is showing the group panel way over in the top left.

I also have both left bars and right bars enabled, I wouldnt want to have to move the mouse way over on both sides to do stuff, etc.
