Hey guys, i recently just got a 37" widescreen LCD for my gaming. The problem i have is getting bf2142 to run right. Now, i understand that it doesn't support widescreen format, but i know people can force widescreen and have hacks to have it function correctly. I have tried the shortcut one but that seems to work for only the original from what i read. My screen will start up black and quickly go back to desktop on any setting. I can not get into the game to change anything either. my current resolution is 1024x768. It doesnt work on this either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I also do not care about punkbuster, i just wanna see this bad ass on my 37".

Both of those threads didn't work. They did not fix the problem i am having. For some reason bf2142 will not start up on my 37" monitor. Tried everything in both threads to no avail.

Is your "Monitor" actually a TV?

If so these have issues with resolutions and refresh rates. You need to check exactly what it supports so you can modify the shortcut accordingly.

BTW if it is a TV and you are using it like a monitor I gotta say one thing ..... MOTION SICKNESS!!!! :P I tried my 32" TV and it was very ordinary, it is OK at a distance though.

If it isn't a TV, then I dunno the fixes posted should work. Try moving your entire BF2142 directory from My Docs. It will create a new one when you start the game and then you will have to fix all your settings.

What do you mean, what doesn't work. Is there something changing at all or doesn't it do anything?
