I will also provide this feedback, and the ATI folks do read the site.

I'm running three 30" panels for a resoloution of 7680x1600 but my intermediate res is 5040x1050. This looks TERRIBLE across 30" monitors!

Dave, are you still monitoring this thread? If so, is there any way us 30" eyefinity users could get support for an intermediate res of 5760x1200? It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I know of one user who is using a 720p projector, which will also do 1080i. CCC picks it up as a 1080 res screen, and forces 3x1920x1080 which is then interpolated to display on the 720p projector. The interpolation makes the image look like crap, and the 1920x1080 resolution kills his framerate. His projector doesn't support 1600x900, so he is basically stuck. Might be better to offer 1280x720 as the intermediate to account for users with HDTVs or projectors.

i think this will also effekt 1366x768 hd rdy screens as they can do 1080 interpolated too. it is the standard res for all today sold hd rdy lcd's.

The real question is, why didn't they just see what the next common resolution was between the displays? Or why not make user configurable custom resolutions, I believe nVidia cards have this feature.

BTW, I updated my post up there to include 1080i and 5x1 setups.

I sent a rather lengthy email to about a half dozen people I have in my address book from ATI. Half of them work in the software/driver division. I outlined the issue on 1080i monitors, and brought up the requests for different Intermediate Resolutions for 1680x1050 and 2560x1600 panels.

I also recommended that they replace the 800x600 "Safe Mode" with 1280x800 for 16:10 and 1280x720 for 16:9. That in itself would solve a lot of problems. In the email I directed them to this thread.
