Why is price gouging still going on, I really need an upgrade right now (I've gone done to 720p per panel on newer games).
I would have payed the initial price but I had just bought my new monitors and was out of cash. (Budget Budget Budget)
Until large quantities of all the popular cards are sitting in the retailers warehouses and not shifting through as fast as they can be shipped in, there will be price gouging.
What annoys me is that prices fluctuate so much. I spotted a 5850 for £189 the other day (easily £25 cheaper than anywhere else) but I went back less than an hour later with intent to purchase, and it had gone up to £207. It wasn't in stock at either point, but it was supposed to only be a few days away. Now, for sub-£200, I was prepared to buy it, but £200 is my cutoff for a new card right now. e-tailer websites seem to have a click counter on them that automatically jacks the price up when people show interest in particular items...
