Hi all

The demo is now out for this game. You can get more info at BattleFront.
It supports surround gaming.
There may be a issue with some people on a 64bit OS. I have not seen anyone report a problem yet, myself included.
I'm on Vista Ultimate X64 SP2 and it is running flawlessly.
Looks very good in DX10 too.
Menus are stretched but 3D looks fine.
The game doesn't currently support steering wheels or TrackIR, but hopefully that is something that will come in a future update. It would be outstanding then, I believe.
Anyway, if you like PT Boats, give it try. It ain't bad ;)

Wasn't a demo released already like ages ago ? PT Boats is part of the whole DX10 flop iirc.
This game has been in development for so long, I don't think you should expect still-missing features to appear in patches anyway :?

No, I think it just came out. There was some trailers from a long time ago, but as far as I know the demo is new.
Yeah, it seems no games come out completely finished anymore. Might be that games are getting so big these days and more complex then from a few years ago. The devs probably can't meet deadlines as easily as they once could and backers demand release. Leaving the devs to complete it via updates after it is already out.
It is a shame, but I guess it something we have to put up with, if we want games to keep improving in physics and gfx.

I don't know that the game will ever get steering wheel and/or TrackIR support. It is just something I am hopeful about.
Anyway, the demo looks pretty cool and is something different to me. I have never had a naval sim before.
I have always wanted a really good F1 Boats or Unlimited Hydroplanes simulator. But no idea if that will ever come.

Thanks for the heads-up anyway, I grabbed the demo and it is actually pretty good. :) The physics are not quite on par with Ship Sim but the game is much more fun to play than Battlestations imho.
Too bad the HUD size is aligned on display width though. It's *quite* invasive in Surround... to the point that the higher FOV is no real advantage over widescreen really. :(
Comparison screenshots posted over here.
Pity, boats ! :hide
