[quote]Hi Dick, you are not alone struggling with two 5970 cards. I am using CCC 9.12 with hotfix, etc. and Eyefinity will simply not work, with or without crossfire. In my case monitors are all Dell U2410s with native DP inputs. One of the monitors is connected to the mini DP port using the Sapphire supplied (or possibly Dell supplied?) mini DP to DP adapter cable. CCC just keeps telling me "not supported" and then flakes out every time I try to engage Eyefinity.
After alot of experimenting, I can tell you that the mini DP connected monitor does not play well on its own, or with any of the other monitors. Cannot use it as the sole monitor at all. When using it as the primary monitor along with one or two other monitors, it will show Bios info and even Windows 7 splash screen (in color) at startup, and then when it gets to the point of loading up the windows 7 logon screen, the mini DP connected monitor goes black and white, and CCC refuses to recognize it (with or without Cross fire on btw).
Given that the monitor is active and functioning fine until Windows log on time, am wondering if Windows 7 has some problem with the mini DP port... could that be? Anyone have any ideas?
I had the same problem.
I was testing my XFX 5970 Black Edition along with an ATI (OEM) 5970.
The XFX card, which came with the latest BIOS from November, worked fine with Eyefinity.
The ATI OEM card, with older BIOS from August, did not. It exhibited the exact same symptoms on the Displayport monitor as you describe.
I tried to update the BIOS on the ATI card, but never had any luck (perhaps because the BIOS were all from other vendors), and ended up giving it back to the guy I bought it from.
So I have a strong suspicion that some older BIOS do not work on Eyefinity, at least on the monitor setup I have (3 x 30").
Jason.
I have a XFX 5870 where do you go to find out what bios the card is using. Maybe I will flash mine if it is old.
