Not sure why others like Kyle at HARDOCP had trouble with the Apple Active adapter but I have it working since yesterday with MSI HD5870 Drivers and Win7 x64 Professional.

Picked up this cable Mini-Display port Female to Male Display Port locally to use with my Apple Active Mini-Display Port to DVI adapter.

http://estore.circuitassembly.com/pr...ter-Cable.html

My setup is DVI + HDMI + DP (CA Adapter>Apple active adapter>DVI cable)

Did a quick test and the 3x 1 option appeared.

played WOW and Crysis last evening at 5040 x 1050

So yes the Apple adapter works with the cable adapter I was able to purchase.

They ship internationaly so you are in Luck

Can somebody confirm this?

If this is true then I need only to find 3 monitors im comfortable with.

Trust me I was also surprised that it worked.
See I got my HD 5870 last Thursday and I had already bought a passive DP to DVI adapter thinking that it would work. NOT.
Last Friday I went to Fry's and bought the Apple Active adapter and then went online and bought the Mini-DP to DP from CA.
Over the weekend I saw HARDOCP Kyle confirm that the Apple adapter would not work so I got fed up of muckin around and also ordered a Dell adapter (Arriving today). Well Last night low and behold after getting my CA Mini DP to DP adapter and plugging it into the apple then into a DVI cable it worked perfectly.

Tonight I will try the Dell active adapter that Fed Ex is delivering to me and if it also works decide which solution I will keep and which I will return to vendor.

Please post here if the Dell Adapter works, im about to buy one, thanks

If you don't have 3 monitors yet, you shouldn't even bother with the adapters. Save up and get something like 3 Dell 2408WFP's or 3 Dell U2410. Both of them have DisplayPort on them. Dell usually has deals on them like once a month or so.

The thing is. 1 x U2410 = 3 x okayish BenQ in price.

Yeah the Dell is the only DP monitor I can find in NZ, in fact it is the only 24 1920x1200 (rather than 1080) that Dell currently offer here... no more cheapo ones like my 2 side monitors. The Dell is easily 3 times the cost of other, decent, monitors.

Which means it's a lot cheaper to go active DisP->DVI adaptor than even one DisP monitor. :(

Same here, as well. I'm hunting for either another 2405 to match my other two or three value screens because I don't really fancy having colour matching issues. :(

No further update from Scan about those active DisP adaptors. :(

It's also an S-IPS display which is far better than a TN. If I didn't already have my two Samsung 2443BW, I'd have definitely saved up and gotten two of them. But yea, I understand where you're coming from.

I've asked accell if theres any European distrubuters as the US one via bizlink wants $115 on top of the convertor just to ship and they pointed me here

http://kabeltje.com/accell-displayport-naar-dvid-dual-link-adapter-25cm-p-1628.html

I think they ship outside Holland but do we have a Dutch member that could translate and check out if they ship to Europe / Worldwide and the cost ?

I probably dont need one myself i've found a dell p2210 that should arrive tommorow but might be usefull for anyone else

very interesting ... thanks for that ... can you test more games ?

would be also good to test 5760 x 1200 if you can ... maybe it can handle 5040 x 1050 but not above ...
