Hi,

I have a 24inch Samsung monitor.

Just purchased new PC with single GTX295 card. Also purchased the TripleHead2Go Digital. Am a noob re hardware and widescreen gaming.

Would appreciate comments on whether:

- I buy another two of the same 24inch monitors and bank on firmware being introduced that allows me to run 1900x1200 in triple (and in meantime have the stretch - how bad is it?)

- I buy 3 22inch monitors (any recommendations welcome - looking at the Samsung 22 BWX), given that this is a lot of screen space anyway and no point getting any bigger.

thanks

There'll probably never be a firmware for 3x1920x1200. The cable connecting to the TH2G doesn't have the bandwidth. As is, they had to drop the hz on the 1680x1050 for that to even work.

Thanks - so you think buy the 3 x 22inchs and use at native resolution?

I think matrox should put out another TripleHead device in the future
Since they said they don't support windows 7 with the current ones, and since windows 7 will be the future of windows sooner or later.

of course that just got out of my head :p

In any case since I'm quite the never satisfied customer
I would choose 3x 22" for the native 1680x1050 resolution

Plus, you might consider that 5040x1050 is already a heavy resolution even for a GTX295...

Before buying the 22" check the "known working at 5040x1050 57Hz" monitors list.

Also bare in mind the Nividia / Vista driver problems. You'll be wanting the latest drivers for Sli profile for new games for your 295GTX to work.

if one doesn't want to update its drivers for whatever reasons
one should know that SLI profiles are doable by hand : http://www.nhancer.com enhance the profiles experience at least a hundred times by providing an easy interface.

there's other reasons to update drivers though ;)

I myself use the nHancer as well. Very good tool to have. Also like the AA features for UT3 engine games that dont support AA.

Currently using 3x24" myself (Samsung 2443BW) and native or non native resolution these monitors are beautiful to play games on! If the 22" are cheaper, get 3 of them and use your 4th as a spare/web browsing monitor.. if they work out the same, get the 24". You would be surprised how good they will look.
