Will a HDMI to Displayport adapter work on the input side?

thinking about hdmi to display port, going from a lower performing connection to a higher performing connection might still work if hdmi supports the required bandwidth for high triple screen resolutions. i dont know lol, i just want my acer x223 monitors to run at 5040x1050 60hz so i can get out of the 4098x768.. its killing me!

HDMI has something like 10GBit of bandwidth, so that's not the issue.

Excellent, can't wait.. hopefully by Q3 2009 some next-gen video cards (GTX 3xx, HD 5xxx) come out too so we can all splurge and upgrade to a new amazing computer :D.

Wonder how many monitors there are with DisplayPort? Seems like the 1.5 year old Dell 2408WFP has it already

Definitely seems like Matrox made the right bet here by releasing a new technology to coincide with availability of DisplayPort (as opposed to the ages it took for a DVI version of Th2Go).

Luckily we shouldn't have to worry about that as far as DP-TH2G is concerned ;)

Why not? It's pure DisplayPort, (1 in, 3 outs) so it makes sense to buy a monitor with DisplayPort (and future proof). I actually searched and found quite a few PVA/IPS monitors with DisplayPort, which is fine for me since I can't stand TN monitors anyway.

I'll probably end up using the DisplayPort connectors for my TH2Go and the DVI connectors simultaneously, being able to quickly switch between spanned and 3 monitor mode that way. Using the spanned mode for anything other than gaming really gets annoying quick.. especially on my analog where the colors are far worse :(.
