I just bought, installed and setup my triple head2go last night, and holy hell, the damn thing looks awesome with all the games I tried.

Sweeeeet.

I have vist64, 2 GeForce 8800 alpha dogs in SLI.

LOTRO runs fantastic, I ran the optimize thru the SGU, really cant complain, it looks awesome.

I am wondering, however, if there is a way to get it to run at 3084x1024 instead of 3084x768?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Also, do Vista and Triplehead support desktop res higher than 3084x1024? THats the highest option i see, and I know i read somewhere that it can go to 5045 x something....

I moved your post to this Surround section of the forum.

I think you mean 3840 (not 3048) ... I think you are getting the option of 3 x 3840x768 because you are using 3 widescreens.
3840x1024 is not a triple wide res.
Are you using 3 widescreens ?

Vista has issues with 5040x1050 unless certain drivers are used.
I do not use Vista so I'm a little out of touch with the current situation regarding drivers and the 5040x1050 res.

Take a look in the two Surround sections of the forum ... I'm sure the info you are looking for is there.

If you don't know ... what is the make and model of the screens ?

Aaaah, sorry. 3 HP L1950 19" monitors. Native res is 1280x1024.

There are a TON of good posts in here about these resolutions. I cant wait to get home and try some of them out.

Ok ... yes the best resolution you can get with your screens is 3840x1024 ... (3 x 1280x1024) and you shouldn't have any difficulty with getting that res in Vista.
Double check and set your desktop res is set to 3840x1024.

The 5040x1050 is for triple widescreen 3 x 1680x1050


I don't know why you are getting 3840x768 in LOTRO ... that is very odd.
Are you sure you don't mean 3072x768 ?

I don't own LOTRO so I'm not 100% sure on this ...
In the SGU did you set it to set the game to 3840x1024 before you clicked Optimize ... perhaps it was by default set to 3072x768.
OR ... perhaps in the game is there an option to change the res to 3840x1024.

Yes, I did mean 3072x768 in LOTRO. I did set it to 3840x1024 before i hit cfg. Placed a surround shortcut to it on the desktop when it asked.

When I start the game, i treverted to 800x600, on one screen. grrrrr. In game options highest res was 3072x768, so i set it at that, saved it, restarted the game, still wouldnt let me go any better than that.

I would love to be able to play it in 3840x1024 tho, any ideas?

That is odd ... as I say I don't have the game to help you any more than I already have.
There are others here on the forum that do play it and I'm sure once they see your post they will help if they can.

Sounds good, I havent really played around with the settings too much. Once i got it I was too geeked to try all my games and see how they looked. :lol: I will be able to spend more time messing around with it tomorrow when Im off. I am sure its gotta be a setting or something I am missing.
